Meet our Principal, Ashleigh Martin
Ashleigh advocates for values-based leadership and student-led learning, believing in developing young people beyond academic achievements and helping them create their own futures. Working with young people and helping make a difference in their lives is what Ashleigh loves most about his role.
Prior to commencing at Caulfield Grammar School, Ashleigh started his teaching career at St Kevin’s College in Melbourne and was Head of Middle School at the Australian International School in Singapore.
Ashleigh joined Caulfield Grammar in 2012 as Head of Middle School, then Director of Teaching & Learning and Vice Principal. In 2018 he was appointed the 10th Principal in the School’s 140-year history. As Principal, Ashleigh balances business performance with student welfare, knowing every decision impacts students.
Conscious that the future of education and the future needs of our School are ever-changing, Ashleigh led the development of Caulfield Grammar School’s Strategy Plan 2019–2031. Grounded in the School Values, the plan retains its strong heritage while focusing on innovation and providing the best learning opportunities for all students. Wellbeing is at the cornerstone of this strategy.
The egalitarian ethos of Caulfield Grammar is what Ashleigh believes distinguishes it from other schools. He is committed to ensuring that Caulfield Grammar School continues to be a leading co-educational school in Australia.
