Enrolment Process: Steps 1-5

Step 1: Apply


Complete an online application form and your child’s name will be placed on a waitlist for the year of entry and year level you request. If your preferred year of entry is within the next three years for ELC to Year 11, our Admissions Team invites you to contact them regarding opportunities for a place prior to submitting an application: Wheelers Hill Campus admissionsWH@caulfieldgs.vic.edu.au phone: 03 8562 5222 or Malvern and Caulfield campuses admissions@caulfieldgs.vic.edu.au phone: 03 9524 6333. The fee to submit an application is $250. The application fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.

Step 2: Processing of application


For students entering Year 7, the enrolment process begins three years prior to the preferred year of entry. For all other year levels, the enrolment process begins up to 18 months prior to the preferred year of entry year. Applications are accepted for all year levels, however our key intake years for each campus are:

Wheelers Hill Campus

  • 3-year-old Kindergarten
  • 4-year-old Pre-Prep (small intake)
  • Prep (small intake)
  • Year 5 
  • Year 7
  • Years 9 to 11

Malvern Campus

  • 3-year-old Kindergarten
  • 4-year-old Pre-Prep
  • Prep (small intake)
  • Year 5 (small intake)

Caulfield Campus

  • Year 7
  • Year 9 (small intake)
  • Years 10 to 11

All applications are processed and assigned a waitlist status according to our Admissions Policy. Step 3: Progressing your child’s application


As your child’s year of entry approaches, you will receive an email asking for confirmation of your interest in enrolment for the level requested. This applies to students who have applied for key intake years only.

Step 4: Formal Offers


  • Offers for entry at Year 7 will commence three years prior to the year of entry. This process can take several months to complete. All offers for other Year Levels will be sent 12 months prior to commencement. An interview with a senior staff member may form part of the offer process.
  • For Entry into the Senior School (Years 10 & 11) current school reports and performance will be considered.
  • For unsuccessful applications, you will receive written notification once the enrolment process has been finalised. This applies to students who have applied for key intake years only. The offer process can take several months to complete.
  • For entry into ELC, children are required to be fully immunised.

Step 5: Confirmation of enrolment


  • Once an offer is received, families should confirm their acceptance in writing using the ‘Acceptance of an offer for Enrolment’ provided. A non-refundable and non-transferable Confirmation of Enrolment fee of $3,200* is payable.
